This grant provides funding to college and university students in the U.S. to create projects that promote unity and dialogue among diverse student groups in response to civic tensions following the 2024 election.

Description

The Strengthening the Campus Community Grants by Interfaith America aim to empower and support student leadership on college and university campuses in the United States in the aftermath of the 2024 election. These grants seek to address the civic tensions highlighted during the election season by funding projects that unite diverse student groups around issues of common concern. Projects should focus on leveraging interfaith and bridgebuilding skills to foster meaningful action and dialogue among undergraduate students.

Applicants are encouraged to propose initiatives tailored to their institution's unique needs, addressing the specific impacts of the election on their campus. Projects could take various forms, such as events, programs, or activities that promote understanding and collaboration between students and their local communities. The grants are intended to spur swift and impactful responses that strengthen campus unity and community engagement during a critical time for civic life.

Eligible applicants must be affiliated with a college or university in the United States and may request funding of up to $5,000. Applications are accepted starting November 5, 2024, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis until January 31, 2025, or until a sufficient number of proposals are selected. Projects must be completed by April 30, 2025, and final reports are due by May 31, 2025.

Strong proposals will demonstrate a clear commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity while addressing meaningful divides on campus or in the surrounding community. Applicants are encouraged to consider how their projects can make a swift, measurable impact in the post-election period.

For more information, prospective applicants can review the grant’s request for proposals and related documents. This initiative reflects Interfaith America’s dedication to supporting student leadership and promoting unity amid challenging times in the nation’s civic and campus environments.
