Description

The Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP) distributes funds for roadway safety improvements, traffic control devices, studies, and outreach. It provides safety funds to cities, counties, and the Iowa DOT in three categories: site-specific improvements, traffic control devices, and studies and outreach. Site-specific projects address safety and operational improvements at locations with a crash history. Traffic control device projects fund new or replacement signs, signals, or pavement markings. Studies and outreach projects support research, driver education, work zone safety, and crash data analysis.
