Applications Due: May 15, 2025
Local
Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC)

This grant provides funding to arts and cultural organizations in Greenville County to support projects that benefit the community through enhanced cultural tourism, artist support, and increased audience access.

Description

The Arts Organization Quarterly Project Grant Program provides funding to support impactful arts and cultural projects within Greenville County. Priority is given to projects that offer significant community benefits, such as enhancing cultural tourism, supporting artists, expanding audience access, and contributing to economic development. Eligible expenses include artist fees, production or exhibition costs, and promotional efforts, with consideration for administrative expenses on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:

Be a unit of government or a charitable organization registered with the South Carolina Office of the Secretary of State.
Be based in Greenville County and serve its residents.
Demonstrate the ability to secure the required matching funds.
Applicants with outstanding project support activities or incomplete reports are ineligible until prior grant obligations are fulfilled. A maximum of two grants can be awarded to each applicant per year, and projects funded by one grant cycle cannot receive funding from another quarterly cycle. Organizations receiving General Operating Support (GOS) are discouraged from applying for project support but may partner with non-GOS organizations.

Funding and Matching Requirements
Grants offer up to $3,000 per project, requiring a 2:1 applicant-to-MAC funding match. Applications from organizations with General Operating Support will receive lower priority, encouraging these entities to collaborate with non-GOS organizations instead.

Application Deadlines and Submission
Applications must be postmarked or delivered to the MAC office by 5 PM on the specified deadline dates:

1st Quarter: February 15, 2024 (projects beginning May–July 2024)
2nd Quarter: May 15, 2024 (projects beginning August–October 2024)
3rd Quarter: August 15, 2024 (projects beginning November 2024–January 2025)
4th Quarter: November 15, 2024 (projects beginning February–April 2025)
Submissions require an original application plus nine stapled copies (10 total). Late, faxed, or emailed applications will not be accepted. In cases where the deadline falls on a holiday or weekend, the next business day will serve as the default deadline.
