Youth Sports Grants Program
This program provides financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in western New York to help reduce costs and barriers for youth aged 3-18 participating in sports.
Description
The Live Like Luca Youth Sports Grants program, administered by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF), aims to support sports organizations in western New York that directly serve youth aged 3-18. The program provides financial assistance to ensure that barriers preventing full participation in youth sports are minimized or eliminated. Grants are targeted toward subsidizing costs such as registration fees, uniforms, equipment, travel, and other necessary expenses related to sports participation.
Eligible applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving youth within the specified age range. Applications are reviewed quarterly, with deadlines on February 15, May 15, August 15, and November 15, and decisions announced within four weeks of these dates. Approved applicants will be contacted to coordinate fund distribution, with a preference for direct vendor payments to maintain expenditure control.
Applicants must complete and submit the program’s application form along with a narrative needs statement and several required documents, including the organization's budget, proof of 501(c)(3) status, a board roster, and a coaches' roster. Grant recipients are required to submit a final report detailing the number of youth served, the use of funds, and supporting receipts.
Questions and assistance with applications can be directed to Eileen Ardillo at NCCF via phone or email. Completed applications can be submitted by mail, fax, or email to the NCCF office. This grant offers an opportunity for eligible organizations to reduce financial barriers to youth sports participation while promoting compassion, generosity, and kindness through athletic activities.
