Description

The Route 66 Extraordinary Women Micro-Grant Program, part of the Road Ahead Partnership's efforts to celebrate the Route 66 Centennial, aims to support women-owned or operated businesses and attractions along Route 66. Funded through private donations and a significant contribution from the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Preserve Route 66 Initiative, this program will distribute up to $60,000. Goals include maintaining operations of existing businesses, aiding reopening efforts, preserving/restoring businesses per Secretary of the Interior Standards, and supporting the establishment of new businesses.

The 2024 program includes two rounds of grants, with maximum awards of $2,000 per grant and up to 10 grants per round. Eligible applicants must be majority women-owned or operated businesses along Route 66, employ fewer than 20 full-time employees, and be registered and in good standing within their state. The application process includes reading the program guidelines and submitting an online application by August 26, 2024, with awards announced the week of September 16, 2024.
