U.S. Embassy to the United Kingdom PDS Annual Program Statement
This grant provides funding for projects that strengthen U.S.-UK relations through cultural exchanges, educational initiatives, and public engagement activities targeting diverse audiences across the UK.
Description
The U.S. Embassy to the United Kingdom’s Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) has announced its annual Public Diplomacy Grants Program for Fiscal Year 2025, running from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025. This opportunity aims to fund projects that strengthen bilateral ties between the United States and the United Kingdom while promoting U.S. Embassy priority areas. The program encourages proposals with budgets ranging between $10,000 and $100,000. All submissions must align with at least one of the Embassy's strategic focus areas and include a U.S. element or connection.
The program's objectives focus on fostering U.S.-UK bilateral relations and addressing global challenges through science, technology, and cultural exchanges. Funded projects should enhance understanding of U.S. policies and perspectives by incorporating U.S. experts, organizations, or institutions. Activities may include academic lectures, cultural workshops, joint performances, exhibitions, professional training, and exchanges. A strong emphasis is placed on public-facing components targeting audiences across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, with special consideration for youth audiences aged 18 to 35 and outreach beyond London.
Funding under this program does not require cost sharing or matching. Eligible applicants include individuals, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), not-for-profit civil society organizations, think tanks, government institutions, and academic institutions, provided they are non-profit entities. Proposals should demonstrate how they address the Embassy’s priority areas and include clear objectives, a timeline, and a measurable impact on target audiences.
Applications should be submitted following the guidelines provided in the Annual Program Statement, which outlines the required proposal format, budget details, and public engagement elements. All proposed programs must emphasize a U.S.-UK connection, promote mutual understanding, and deliver tangible benefits to both nations. A public engagement element is mandatory, ensuring projects engage audiences effectively.
Applications are due by August 15, 2025. Proposals must align with the Embassy's objectives and be submitted before the deadline to be considered. The grant review process will evaluate applications based on alignment with the Embassy’s goals, innovation, feasibility, and potential for lasting impact. Funding decisions will be communicated following the review period.
