Description
The 1829 Legacy Fund Grants, formerly known as the Providence Journal Charitable Legacy Fund, is aimed at supporting qualified nonprofit organizations that contribute to the community through programs and services in various areas. Established at the Rhode Island Foundation in 2012, this fund focuses on human services and healthcare with an emphasis on homelessness, education and youth, arts and culture, and responsible and ethical journalism. The primary geographic focus of the funding is Rhode Island. Applicants are welcome to apply once per calendar year, with decisions made approximately three months post-application. Application deadlines for 2024 are set for April 2, June 18, September 17, and November 26.
