Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation’s Community Grant 2025
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations that support economic prosperity and resilience for under-resourced individuals, families, and small businesses in communities served by Umpqua Bank.
Description
The Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation continues its commitment to building economically vibrant, healthy, inclusive, and sustainable communities through its 2025 Community Grant program. With a deep focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Foundation supports nonprofit organizations that aim to improve economic prosperity and resilience for under-resourced individuals, families, and small businesses within Umpqua Bank’s footprint.
The 2025 Community Grants provide small grants ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, with awards being unrestricted though applicants must describe intended fund use. Grants are available for both direct-service programming and general operating support. Applications must be submitted through the online portal on Umpqua Bank’s Community Partnerships page, and paper or email submissions are not accepted. Organizations can only submit one application per calendar year unless serving as a fiscal sponsor for multiple programs in smaller communities.
The grant program operates on three application cycles: Spring (February 3–March 17), Summer (March 18–June 9), and Fall (June 16–September 8). Applicants are notified of decisions within about 12 weeks after the deadline. There is no formal reporting requirement post-award, but organizations are encouraged to share program successes in future applications. Priority is given to programs aligned with four focus areas: Economically Vibrant Communities, Healthy Communities, Inclusive Communities, and Sustainable Communities.
Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits registered with the IRS and must serve communities near Umpqua Bank locations. Organizations must not engage in discriminatory practices and must verify this through their application submission. Umpqua Bank emphasizes volunteer engagement by their associates and considers it important in application review. Contact with the Community Grants team can be made via Community@UmpquaBank.com.
