This program provides financial assistance to various governmental entities, organizations, and educational institutions in Wisconsin for the construction and improvement of shooting ranges.

Program Intent: The Shooting Range Grant Program provides assistance for the construction of outdoor and indoor shooting ranges in Wisconsin. Eligible items include backstops, berms, target holders, shooting benches, baffles, protective fencing, signs, trenches, gun racks, platforms, restrooms, and other essential items for the project. The program is administered as a reimbursement program where applicants must incur and pay all costs before seeking reimbursement from the DNR. Partial reimbursements may be requested quarterly during the project's lifespan.
Eligibility: Counties, cities, villages, townships, other governmental agencies or units, clubs or organizations, businesses or corporations and educational institutions are eligible to apply for these grants.
Ineligible Items: Construction of clubhouses and facilities not essential to the operation of the shooting range and operation/maintenance costs of the range are not eligible for funding.
Application Deadline: July 15th annually
