Description
The Social and Economic Development Strategies (SEDS) program, offered by the Administration for Native Americans (ANA) under the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), will provide grant funding for FY 2025 to support initiatives that foster economic growth, strengthen Native American families, and preserve cultural heritage within Native American communities. This grant encourages the development of community-driven projects targeting social and economic challenges, emphasizing local business creation, economic infrastructure, and social support systems tailored to the needs of Native American groups, including American Indians (both federally and non-federally recognized), Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Native American Pacific Islanders.
This funding opportunity has a total budget allocation of $21 million, with an anticipated 24 awards ranging from $100,000 to $900,000. The project period is expected to commence on September 30, 2025, following an award date of August 29, 2025. Cost-sharing or matching contributions are required for this program.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of Native American organizations and entities: federally recognized tribes, state-recognized and non-recognized tribes, tribal consortia, Native Community Development Financial Institutions (Native CDFIs), Native Hawaiian-serving entities, Alaska Native entities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and other nonprofits focused on Native American communities, among others. Faith-based organizations that meet these requirements are also encouraged to apply. Applications from individuals and foreign entities are ineligible.
