RiverHealth Stewardship Program
This program provides funding to community groups, businesses, and organizations in the Portland Metropolitan area and Clackamas County to improve watershed health through projects that enhance vegetation, reduce pollution, and educate residents about water quality.
Description
The RiverHealth Stewardship Program (RHSP) supports community groups, businesses, and property owners in improving the health of watersheds within surface water areas served by Clackamas Water Environment Services (WES). The grants aim to enhance streamside vegetation, reduce pollutants and runoff from paved surfaces, use Low Impact Development Approaches (LIDA) to manage stormwater, educate residents on water quality improvement, and provide opportunities for historically underserved communities to benefit from watershed health education. The program awards up to $30,000 per organization for projects that meet these goals.
Eligible applicants include community groups, businesses, schools, nonprofits, student groups, faith organizations, neighborhood or business associations, and service groups within the Portland Metropolitan area and Clackamas County. Projects must be completed within the watersheds served by WES.
