Sustainable Jersey Grants Program
This program provides funding to New Jersey municipalities and schools for sustainability projects, with a focus on supporting smaller initiatives through grants.
Description
The Sustainable Jersey Grants Program, funded by the PSEG Foundation with a $200,000 contribution, supports sustainability projects in New Jersey municipalities and schools. The program has provided a total of $3.7 million in funding. The grants include $20,000 and $10,000 for large projects, and $2,000 for smaller project or green team support grants. The number of grants awarded will depend on the quality of applications, with a focus on funding more of the smaller grants. Applicants can apply for both amounts, but only one will be selected for funding. The application deadline is February 14, 2025.
Eligibility requires that applicants be New Jersey municipalities participating in the Sustainable Jersey program with an appointed green team meeting program standards. Previous grant recipients must meet additional requirements. Applicants should review the program’s resources, including the informational flyer, QuickStart guide, and Application Information Packet, which provide application details and tips for success.
The application process is online, and applicants must keep track of their login credentials for reporting after receiving funds. An informational webinar was held on December 19, 2024, and its recording is available. For questions or assistance, applicants can contact the program staff at grants@sustainablejersey.com or 609-771-3189.
