Description
The 2024 Public Charter School Program (CSP) Planning, Program Design and Implementation grant is administered by the Florida Department of Education through an RFP process. The grant aims to provide financial assistance for the planning, program design, and initial implementation of high-quality charter schools, and to expand the number of high-quality charter schools in Florida. Eligible applicants must have submitted a charter school application to a Local Educational Agency (LEA) using the Department's model charter school application and received approval or be pending an appeal. The CSP sub-recipient must open the charter school in the 2024-25 school year. Approximately $20,420,000 is available, with individual awards of up to $860,000 for new and established operators, and $1,500,000 for Schools of Hope or schools in Opportunity Zones. The Stage I proposal is due by July 5, 2024, and the Stage II proposal by September 26, 2024.
