USAID Multisectoral Resilience Activity
This initiative provides support to local organizations in Sokoto and Zamfara States, Nigeria, to improve economic opportunities, food security, and community resilience for vulnerable populations through collaborative and inclusive projects.
Description
The USAID Multisectoral Resilience Activity is a new initiative for the Sokoto and Zamfara States in Nigeria, aimed at addressing poverty, enhancing resilience, and supporting vulnerable populations through locally led, multisectoral interventions. The United States Agency for International Development’s Nigeria Mission (USAID/Nigeria) issued this Request for Information (RFI) to gather feedback, ideas, and innovative approaches from stakeholders to inform the design of this activity.
The activity focuses on increasing economic opportunities, improving food security and nutrition, strengthening market systems, enhancing social cohesion, and promoting better natural resource management. Interventions will address both agricultural and non-agricultural challenges, leveraging the expertise of key actors to ensure sustainable and inclusive development. The guiding principles for implementation include conflict sensitivity, gender and inclusive development, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). These principles will ensure that the activity fosters peace, avoids harm, and promotes inclusion across diverse communities.
USAID/Nigeria’s overarching goal for 2020–2025 is to support “a healthier, more educated, prosperous, stable, and resilient Nigeria.” This activity aligns with the mission’s objectives to broaden economic growth, improve health and education outcomes, and strengthen accountable and inclusive governance. The mission also emphasizes partnerships with local entities and encourages new and underutilized organizations to respond to the RFI.
Respondents are invited to submit their ideas electronically through the provided Google Form link. Submissions must include a one-page document with organizational details, such as the organization's name, contact information, and a summary of purpose and experience. Responses should not contain proprietary, sensitive, or personally identifiable information. This RFI is for market research purposes only and does not constitute a request for technical or cost proposals.
The submission deadline for responses is January 17, 2025. Interested parties are encouraged to monitor opportunities on sam.gov and grants.gov for subsequent announcements related to this initiative. USAID/Nigeria aims to ensure that interventions under the Multisectoral Resilience Activity are locally driven, impactful, and contribute to sustainable development in Nigeria.
