This program provides funding to support projects that enrich the arts, heritage, and humanities for residents of Clackamas County, Oregon, encouraging community participation and collaboration.
Description
The 2025 Project Grant Program, offered by the Clackamas County Cultural Coalition, is aimed at supporting projects that enhance the arts, heritage, and humanities within Clackamas County, Oregon. Applications open on October 7, 2024, with a firm deadline of November 10, 2024, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Grants range from a minimum of $751 to a maximum of $3,500. Successful applicants will be required to submit a post-project narrative and financial report, along with documentation such as photos, within 30 days of completing the project.
Eligible applicants include organizations physically located in Clackamas County and individuals or organizations in Oregon whose projects directly benefit Clackamas County residents. Past grant recipients must have completed all prior grant requirements to be eligible for new funding. Notably, nonprofit tax-exempt status is not required, broadening access to smaller organizations and community-driven projects. Projects must align with the Coalition’s cultural goals, such as increasing public recognition of local culture, promoting diversity, and expanding community participation in arts and culture.
The program prioritizes projects that can deliver measurable outcomes in key areas, including enhancing the value of local culture, fostering partnerships, and stimulating cultural tourism. Applicants are encouraged to showcase partnerships and collaborations with local organizations, businesses, or government entities as evidence of broad community support. Matching funds or in-kind contributions are expected as part of the application, and projects should demonstrate sustainability beyond the grant period if part of a larger initiative. Capital projects that increase participation in arts and culture may also be considered, though applicants should confirm eligibility beforehand.
Certain restrictions apply, such as the ineligibility of endowment or operating expense requests, alcohol-related costs, and applications from those who have not submitted reports from previous grant cycles. Projects must be completed within the calendar year for which the grant is awarded, and all required reports must be submitted to maintain eligibility for future funding.
Applicants are advised to review the FAQs and last year’s Grant Application Training Video before applying, and those with questions are encouraged to contact the grant administrator for clarification. This program is focused on projects that not only meet the Coalition’s mission but also build lasting cultural infrastructure and community support within Clackamas County.
