Description
The Allamakee County Community Foundation (ACCF) offers “Emerging Needs” Mini Grants to support community development, community promotions, and community education initiatives within Allamakee County, Iowa. The foundation aims to enhance the quality of life for residents by funding small-scale projects that address pressing local needs. This grant opportunity is designed to be flexible and responsive to the emerging needs of the community.
Eligible applicants include organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation from the Internal Revenue Service, as well as schools and municipalities operating within Allamakee County. Organizations that do not have a nonprofit status may still apply if they secure a fiscal sponsorship agreement with a 501(c)(3) entity. A designated fiscal sponsor must complete and return the required agreement before the application is considered.
Grants of up to $1,000 are available for projects that align with the foundation’s focus areas. The application process requires interested applicants to submit a letter of interest via email to accf@dbqfoundation.org by the designated deadlines. The subject line of the email must include “ACCF Mini Grants” along with the applicant’s organization name. Applicants are encouraged to call Betty Steege at 563-586-2046 before submitting their application to confirm receipt and provide an email address.
The mini-grant program follows a recurring cycle with three application windows annually: April 15-30, July 15-31, and October 15-31. Applications submitted outside these periods will not be considered. Awards are based on community impact and alignment with the foundation’s goals.
