Clean Water State Revolving Fund
This program provides funding to states for various water quality projects, including the construction of treatment facilities and management of nonpoint source pollution, to improve water infrastructure and protect the environment.
Description
The Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) program provides funding for a variety of water quality protection efforts, allowing states to address their specific water quality priorities. Established in 1987, the program has evolved to include a wide range of project eligibilities, including the construction of publicly owned treatment works, implementation of nonpoint source management programs, and development of comprehensive conservation and management plans. The program has been amended over the years to expand its eligibilities, most recently by the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014. The CWSRF aims to support innovative and environmentally sustainable projects that enhance water quality and infrastructure resilience.
