2025-2026 Community Social Services Grants
This program provides funding to local nonprofit organizations in Thousand Oaks to deliver essential social services that support low-income residents, focusing on needs like food security, housing stability, and medical care.
The Community Social Services Grant (CSSG) program, administered by the City of Thousand Oaks, California, provides funding to local nonprofit agencies that offer essential public and social services to eligible low-income residents within the city. The program aims to support services that enhance the well-being of vulnerable populations by addressing needs such as food security, housing stability, medical and dental care, and caregiver support.
For the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 funding cycle, the application period is open until April 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Eligible projects include programs such as Meals on Wheels, caregiver support centers, distribution of medical and dental supplies, backpack and school supply drives, and emergency rental assistance. Applicants must ensure that all services funded by this grant exclusively benefit residents of the City of Thousand Oaks.
Funding awards for the CSSG program range from a minimum of $2,000 to a maximum of $10,000 per organization, with no matching fund requirement. All awarded programs, projects, and events must be completed between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, and all grant-related expenditures must occur within this period. Upon project completion or after funds are fully utilized, grantees must submit a Performance Report within 30 days.
To apply, applicants must complete their submission using Microsoft Word or a similar format and email the signed application, along with all required documents, to TOgrants@toaks.gov by the deadline. A confirmation email will be sent during business hours; if applicants do not receive a confirmation, they should assume their submission was not received. Late applications will not be accepted.
Applicants must also comply with California Government Code Section 84308, known as the Levine Act, which requires disclosure of campaign contributions totaling $250 or more to any city council member within the previous 12 months. Failure to disclose may result in civil or criminal penalties. Additionally, awardees are prohibited from making further contributions exceeding this amount within the 12 months following a grant award.
The Community Funding Review Committee (CFRC) evaluates all applications and presents funding recommendations to the City Council, which makes the final funding decisions. Applicants will be notified of award decisions in mid-June 2025.
For more information, applicants can refer to the Community Grant Program Resolution (updated October 2024), Grant Agreement Template (updated December 2023), and the Grant Performance Report. Any questions can be directed to the grant office via email at TOgrants@toaks.gov.
