Barrington District Nursing Association Fund Grants

The Barrington District Nursing Association Fund Grants are administered by the Rhode Island Foundation. The Rhode Island Foundation is a statewide community foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life for all Rhode Islanders by supporting nonprofit organizations, fostering community engagement, and managing charitable funds. The Barrington District Nursing Association Fund was established in 1989 to specifically support programs that enhance the physical and mental health and well-being of Barrington residents.

The purpose of these grants is to provide funding to nonprofit human service organizations located in Barrington, Rhode Island, or other nonprofit organizations that directly provide health care, health education, or essential basic needs to Barrington residents. The fund prioritizes projects and programs that address key health and wellness challenges within the community.

Grants from the Barrington District Nursing Association Fund typically range from $1,000 to $15,000. Eligible organizations are limited to submitting only one application per year to this particular fund. However, applicants are not restricted from applying to other grant opportunities offered through the Rhode Island Foundation. Funding is intended to support direct service provision, educational initiatives, and essential health-related services.

Applications must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on March 10, 2025. Technical assistance for applications will only be available until 5:00 p.m. EST on that date. The application process requires completion and submission of a Small Grant Programs application form, along with a completed budget form, a proposal narrative (contained within the application), and a current list of the organization’s board of directors. All materials must be submitted through the Rhode Island Foundation’s online system. Applications open approximately six weeks prior to the deadline.
